Meet the statutory EYFS framework training requirements

As required by the DfE and Ofsted 

  • The lead practitioner must attend a child protection training course. (Page 21 paragraph 3.5) 
  • Providers must train all staff to understand their safeguarding policy and procedures. (Page 22 paragraph 3.6) 
  • Induction training must include information about emergency evacuation procedures, safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety issues. (Page 26 paragraph 3.21) 
  • Providers must support staff to undertake appropriate training and professional development opportunities to ensure they offer quality learning and development experiences for children that continually improve. (Page 26 paragraph 3.21) 
  • At least one person who has a current paediatric first aid (PFA) certificate. (Page 26 paragraph 3.25) 
  • Training must be provided for staff where the administration of medicine requires medical or technical knowledge. (Page 33 paragraph 3.46) 
  • All staff involved in preparing and handling food must receive training in food hygiene. (Page 33 paragraph 3.49)
